The Michael S. Jacobs Foundation
The Michael S. Jacobs Foundation was founded in 2005 after the unexpected death of Slammers Baseball, co-owner, Mike Jacobs, on July 22, 2004… 20 years later (almost to the day), Mike’s son, AJ Jacobs, also unexpectedly passed away on July 25, 2024, at the young age of 35.
AJ was a phenomenal baseball player through his youth and high school years playing pitcher on the Varsity team for Cherry Creek High School. He coached for several years at Slammers Baseball and loved giving back to our community. This foundation is the heart and soul of the Jacobs’ family, this year more than ever before. The main goal of our foundation is to provide financial assistance to youth and high school student athletes. The foundation has awarded over $80,000 in scholarships to High School graduates to attend college, as well as helped hundreds of youth play competitive baseball & softball.
The proceeds of this golf tournament will go towards providing opportunities for youth, high school, and college athletes to pursue their dreams in athletic endeavors – in loving memory of Michael & AJ Jacobs.
We have also partnered with Meningioma Mommas, a Highlands Ranch-based non-profit that serves the needs of over 3,000 people affected by meningioma brain tumors. We have made a commitment to help fight this devastating disease, which I know first hand the effects of as my wife, Liz, is a 16-year survivor.
